Eastern Shore Flight Co.

Terms of Service

Effective August 9, 2026

Who we are

Eastern Shore Flight Co. is a trade name of Roderi Air, LLC, a Maryland limited liability company operating at Ocean City Municipal Airport, 12724 Airport Road, Hangar C-4, Berlin, Maryland 21811. In these terms, "we," "us," and "our" mean Roderi Air, LLC.

By purchasing from this website you agree to these terms.

What you are buying

A discovery flight is a flight training lesson conducted under 14 CFR Part 61. An FAA Certified Flight Instructor acts as pilot in command, you handle the controls, and the flight is logged in your logbook and counts toward a pilot certificate.

We do not offer sightseeing flights, air tours, or scenic flights of any kind. We are not certificated for them and we do not sell them.

Purchasing

You must be 18 or older to purchase. Payment is taken at checkout by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

Prices are in U.S. dollars. If our prices change, anything you have already purchased is honored at the value you paid.

Scheduling

Discovery flights are scheduled by phone. We do not publish an open calendar for them, because the airplane and the weather both get a vote. After you purchase, we will call and email you within one business day to find a date and time that works.

Enrolled students schedule themselves. Once you are accepted as a student and your account is set up, you book the airplane and your instructor directly in Flight Circle. Training is billed through your Flight Circle account, not through this website.

Rescheduling, late changes, and no-shows

Rescheduling is free and unlimited with at least 24 hours' notice. Call or email and we will find another day.

If you need to change a flight with less than 24 hours' notice, or if you do not arrive, your flight is still yours. Nothing is forfeited and no fee is charged. We will rebook it. We ask only that you give us 24 hours where you can, because a flight that is not flown is a morning the airplane and the instructor were held for you.

Weather and safety

Aviation is weather-dependent. If we postpone a flight for weather, aircraft availability, maintenance, or any other safety consideration, there is never a fee and we will reschedule at your convenience.

If either of us is not comfortable with the conditions, we do not go, and there is no charge. That includes you. Nobody is ever charged for deciding not to fly.

The instructor is pilot in command and has final authority for the flight. The instructor may end, shorten, or decline a flight at any time for safety.

Refunds

Refundable any time, no questions asked. Email or call us and we will refund you.

Refunds are issued to the original purchaser, on the original payment method, for the amount paid. This applies even if the flight or certificate was given or transferred to someone else. Refunds normally appear within five to ten business days depending on your bank.

Training accounts and deposits

Flight training beyond a discovery flight runs through an account in your name in Flight Circle, our flight school management system. Training is billed there, not through this website.

Starting instrument or commercial training requires an application and a $500 opening deposit. That deposit goes into your account and is drawn down as you fly. We ask you to keep the balance positive so that flying is never interrupted by paperwork.

The money in your account is yours. Whatever is unspent comes back to you, on request, at any time. That is true when you finish, and equally true if you stop training. We do not keep unspent balances and there is no fee to close an account.

Refunds of account balances are issued to the person who funded the account, on the original payment method where possible.

Gift certificates and prepaid flights

Gift certificates and prepaid discovery flights never expire. They are transferable to anyone. They are refundable at any time on the terms above.

Gift certificates are issued by hand and emailed to you or to your recipient, normally within one business day. They carry no cash value beyond the amount paid and cannot be exchanged for cash. They cannot be applied to other flight training.

Waiver, consent, and minors

Everyone who flies with us signs a liability waiver before the flight. We send it by DocuSign in advance, and we would rather have it completed before you arrive. If it is not signed, we can complete it at the airport before the lesson begins. An unsigned waiver means the flight does not happen.

The minimum age to fly with us is 8. For anyone under 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign the waiver and the consent it contains. We send the DocuSign envelope directly to the parent or guardian, not to the minor.

No medical certificate is required for a discovery flight.

Photographs

We take photographs during your flight and send them to you. Permission for photography, and for any later use of those photographs, is handled in the waiver. For anyone under 18, that permission is the parent's or guardian's to give.

Who flies and who rides

Both front seats are working seats. If you are 18 or older, you fly one-on-one with your instructor.

For anyone under 18, a parent or guardian needs to be at the airport. Whether they come along is up to them. There is one back seat available on a discovery flight, so it is one parent or guardian in the airplane, not two, and no other passengers.

Friends and family are welcome to see you off at the gate.

Documents we collect

For a discovery flight we collect your name, contact information, the age of the person flying, and the signed waiver. Height and weight are collected on the scheduling call, because the instructor needs them for weight and balance.

Flight training beyond a discovery flight requires identity documents under TSA rules, and those are collected when that applies. Waivers and student records are stored in Flight Circle, our flight school management system. See our Privacy Policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts serving Worcester County, Maryland.

Changes

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top will change when we do. Anything you purchased before a change is governed by the terms in place when you purchased it.
