Who we are

Eastern Shore Flight Co. is a trade name of Roderi Air, LLC, at Ocean City Municipal Airport, 12724 Airport Road, Hangar C-4, Berlin, Maryland 21811.

We are a small flight school. We collect what we need to fly with you safely and legally, and nothing else.

What we collect

When you buy something. Your name, email address, phone number, billing address, the name and age of the person flying, and anything you tell us in the notes field. Payment is processed by Stripe. Your full card number never reaches us and we do not store it.

When you contact us. Whatever you send us by phone, email, or a form on this site.

When you fly with us. A signed liability waiver, and your height and weight, which the instructor needs to calculate weight and balance. For training beyond a discovery flight, the identity documents the TSA requires, and your logbook and training records.

When you visit this site. Squarespace, who hosts it, records standard traffic information such as pages viewed, approximate location, browser type, and referring site, and sets cookies to make the site and the cart work.

Who else sees it

We use a small number of services to run the business. Each one sees only what it needs, and each has its own privacy policy.

• Squarespace hosts the website and the store, and provides its own analytics.
• Stripe processes payments.
• DocuSign delivers and stores signed waivers.
• Flight Circle holds student accounts, scheduling, waivers, training records, and TSA documents.
• Namecheap Private Email carries our email.
• Verizon carries our phone line.

We may also share information when the law requires it, including with the FAA or the TSA.

What we do not do

We do not sell your information. We do not rent it, trade it, or hand it to advertisers. We do not run advertising trackers on this site.

How we use it

To schedule and fly your lesson. To calculate weight and balance. To take payment and issue refunds. To keep the records the FAA and the TSA require. To answer you when you get in touch.

If you buy from us, we may email you about that purchase. We do not add you to a mailing list unless you ask to be on one.

Photographs

We take photographs during flights and send them to the person who flew. Permission for photography, and for any later use of those photographs, is handled in the waiver you sign. For anyone under 18, that permission belongs to the parent or guardian.

Children

You must be 18 or older to buy from this site. Anyone under 18 who flies with us has a parent or guardian who signs the waiver and provides their information. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children.

How long we keep it

Training records, logbook entries, waivers, and TSA documents are kept as long as the FAA and the TSA require, and generally longer, because a pilot's training record matters years later. Purchase records are kept as long as our accountant and the tax authorities require. If you ask us to delete something we are not required to keep, we will.

Security

Records live in the services listed above rather than on a laptop. We use strong passwords and multi-factor authentication where it is offered. No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise.

Your choices

Call or email us and we will tell you what we hold, correct anything wrong, or delete what we are not required to keep. There is no form to fill out. A real person answers.

Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top will change when we do.
