Get in touch

Start with a conversation.

Ten minutes tells you more than an hour of reading. Tell us what you're trying to do and we'll tell you honestly whether we're the ones to do it.

Three ways

Pick whichever is easiest.

Call

844-FLY-OCMD
844-359-6263

Answered 9 to 5, Monday through Friday. Outside that, leave a number and you'll get a call back.

Usually within a business day. If it takes a little longer, it's because we were flying.

The form below reaches the same inbox. Use it if it's easier to type than to talk. Plenty of people would rather.

Three options, and all three reach a person. Press 1 for discovery flights or questions about training, 2 if you're already a student here, 3 for everything else. That's the whole menu, with no queue behind it and no department to be transferred to.

If you get voicemail, it's because everyone was flying. Leave a number and you'll get a call back.

When we're here

The office keeps office hours. The airplane doesn't.

There's no typical student and no typical schedule. Some people fly Tuesday mornings, some come out after work, some save for a year and then fly nearly every day until it's done. The calendar is wide open because the reasons people learn to fly aren't all the same.

Flying

Seven days a week

Weather and daylight permitting, and later when the training calls for it. Night cross-countries are a requirement, not an exception.

The phone

We answer every one

Eight hours of flight training in a day, and that's a limit we don't negotiate. An instructor is allowed no more than eight hours of flight training in any twenty-four, and the reason for the rule is the reason we like it. Tired instructors miss things.

Once you're training here you book your own flights. You'll have a Flight Circle login with your instructor's availability and the aircraft schedule both in it, so you're picking from what's actually open instead of trading messages. The first flight is the one we set up by phone, because weather gets a vote and so does a schedule we haven't seen yet.

Where to find us

Ocean City Municipal Airport.

We fly out of OXB in West Ocean City, three miles from the inlet and about ten minutes from the boardwalk. Two runways, no control tower, and nobody hurrying you.

Eastern Shore Flight Co.
12724 Airport Rd., Hangar C-4
Berlin, MD 21811

01

Park at the terminal

Turn off Route 611 onto Airport Road and follow it to the terminal building. Parking is free and there's always room.

02

Walk to the picnic tables by the fence

They're in plain sight, looking straight out over the runway. That's where we meet. No gate code, no badge, nobody to check in with.

03

Your instructor comes to you

You'll walk out to the airplane together. Anyone seeing you off is welcome to stay at the tables and watch you take off, which is the best view on the field without a headset.

Ground work happens wherever suits you. Ground instruction, checkride prep, going over a cross-country plan the night before. Most of it works well on a screen share, and it saves you the drive. If you would rather sit down together, just let us know.

Weather doesn't waste the trip. If the day won't support the lesson you came for, there's usually still a useful hour to be had on the ground. And rescheduling is free and unlimited.

Send a note

Tell us what you're after.

You don't need to know the right words for it. "I've always wanted to try" is a complete answer, and so is "I have 180 hours and I'm stuck."

We use what you send here to answer you, and nothing else. See our Privacy Policy.

Before you call

Questions we get first.

Or skip the conversation and just go flying.

A discovery flight is about two hours, $199, and you fly the airplane yourself. No medical certificate, no experience, and refundable any time if you change your mind.
